Each block has high contrast with the black spaces. These black spaces can be created in appliqué, or reverse applique onto black fabric, leaving the black areas un covered. These designs would look stunning in Inktense pencil or come to life with your NeocolorII water-soluble crayons. You may decide to create all 12 zodiac blocks with fabric paint such as Lumiere on black fabric – my favourite technique. These designs could become pockets on a shirt or a panel for a tote bag or create a 12 block zodiac quilt for the Astrologist in the family. A cover for a journal depicting the recipients zodiac or enlarge to any size you wish and collage the design with fussy cut flowers such as Kaffe Fassett Florals as I have here and you have a stunning centre panel of a much larger quilt.
