Description
BrushStroke Birds – EDesign set of 3
I originally painted these designs on canvas with acrylic paint back in 2007. I have included 2 photos to demonstrate how different the designs would look painted on white fabric or perhaps created in applique. I have now revisited these designs and used my favourite Lumiere acrylic metallic and pearlescent paints on black fabric. Ironically the black brushstrokes that are such a distinct feature of the design are actually not painted, but are gaps between the painted areas, allowing the black fabric to show through the design.
The photographed sample I created a mini wall hanging with blocks 12″ each and 2″ sashings. I also made a set of 3 stylish cushion covers with my BrushStroke Birds enlarged to approx 40cm square.
Imagine how these designs would look coloured in Inktense or even Applique. I look forward to seeing your variations.
